Maria Milagros- the Boricua Thunder of burlesque!

A diva with an ass that jiggles like flan, María Milagros has macheted her way to the top in The City that Never Sleeps with a coqui song in her heart every step of the way.

Milagros does it all—performing, producing, and constructing all her costumes. She explores various styles- old school, new school, nerdlesque, and horrorlesque.

With every costume piece removed in her stripteases, Milagros evokes glamour and camp, and unveils layers of gender beyond the binary, fat liberation, ritual, ancestry, and spirituality. Through her solo burlesque performances—where she demonstrates sexual autonomy and unabashed love of her body—Milagros in turn advocates for her queer, Black, Indigenous, and Puerto Rican siblings.

Milagros is the valedictorian of the Cleveland Burlesque Academy class of 2020, studying under Bella Sin.

She currently performs with and works as the Associate Producer of Queer & Now, an unapologetically feminist, trans-inclusive, anti-racist futuristic performance collective celebrating queer people via drag, burlesque, dance, and cabaret. She is also a producer of variety shows (burlesque, drag, live music, etc) at Delight Factory in Brooklyn.

Milagros is the burlesque character created by Brooklyn-based theater and performance artist Jordan Elizabeth Reed.
